With an engineering degree from the Philippines, Teofilo Daquila commenced his graduate studies in economics at the University of the Philippines and obtained his MA degree from the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven in 1983. From a beautiful and historical university town of Leuven in Belgium, he proceeded to Australia in June 1984 and obtained his PhD degree from the Australian National University in July 1988.
