The University has not engaged any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Candidates interested in our graduate programme are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without giving reasons.<\/strong><\/p>\n Interested applicants should follow the instructions provided in this\u00a0webpage<\/a>\u00a0regarding application to FASS Graduate Research Programmes.<\/strong><\/p>\n Application for admission to the programme is available online. The online application system will be available on the application site<\/a> during the application period.<\/p>\n There is only 1 intake per year in Semester 1 which begins in August. The application period will be from 16 May (in the year preceding the intake) to 1 November (in the year preceding the intake).<\/p>\n A research proposal should be submitted along with other supporting documents. Keeping with the comparative approach of the CAS PhD programme,\u00a0the proposal must clearly identify the 2 Asian geographical or cultural areas the student wishes to study<\/strong>, e.g. East Asia and Southeast Asia, or South Asia and Southeast Asia.\nApplicants are strongly encouraged to consult his\/her proposed thesis advisor before submitting their proposals.
