Students who plan to go on local or overseas exchange programmes in Semester 1 or Semester 2 or during the special term (example, summer programme), and plan to map a language course, have to submit application for course mapping, prior<\/u><\/strong> to the commencement of your overseas programme.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. The review will take about three weeks<\/strong> upon the receipt of all required information<\/u> (please refer to point 5 below). There is a block-out period <\/strong>for review from Round 1 of Course Registration at Education Records System (CourseReg@EduRec) to the end of week 4 of each semester.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. <\/strong>How is the assessment of course mapping done?<\/u>
        \n<\/strong>The Centre does not map units to units. <\/strong>The course is assessed against the backdrop of different components of the course, including but not limited to, the syllabus, topics and grammar covered, contact hours, assessment components and weightages, textbooks used, the chapters covered, etc. (please refer to point 5 below). Points are assigned to each criterion in the framework, and from the total number of points, we determine the number of units you can map back.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. <\/strong>How do I submit the application for course <\/u><\/strong><\/u>mappin<\/b><\/u>g<\/b><\/u>?<\/b><\/u>
          \n<\/b>Please\u00a0submit your application on EduRec<\/a>. Students who have completed the overseas programme and did not apply for course mapping should submit the application via your home Faculty\/School\/College. If your home faculty does not have a form, you can complete the Centre’s mapping application form<\/a>. <\/strong><\/strong>Note: Incomplete application will be routed back to you to fill in the details before the assessment of the course will be done.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. <\/strong>What must I prepare?<\/u>
            \n<\/strong>All of the following course details must be provided, failing which your application will be routed back to you. If you are providing an online course catalogue, please specify the pages to locate the course you are applying for. Course\u00a0details:
            \n<\/u>1. Course title and code
            \n2. Course description
            \n3. Number of weeks of instruction
            \n4. Detailed course contents
            \n5. Course syllabus (progression) and grammar topics
            \n6. Course Structure (number of contact hours per week, including Self-Directed Learning, and the overall total)
            \n7. Assessment components and weightages
            \n8. URL to course website or email from course coordinator
            \n9. Title of the textbooks used, units covered in the textbook, list of communicative and grammar topics, and the publisher (if applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. <\/strong>What if the language course I want to map to is not a language offered by the Centre?
              \n<\/strong>The Centre offers               thirteen (13) languages<\/a>. If the language course that you wish to map to is not a course that the Centre offers, please apply to map to LAX1741, Department Exchange Course<\/strong>. We will advise you accordingly should the overseas course cannot be mapped to LAX1741. Please note that the third digit, “4” denotes the number of units that you can map back. If the overseas course is equivalent to, for example, 2 units, you will be informed to remap to LAX1721 (2 units).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
