These prizes are funded by donations. Awardees will be awarded book prizes. The prizes aim to recognise top students who have performed consistently well and to encourage the students to continue with their language learning efforts.\n<strong>Language awards hosted in other departments<\/strong>\n<p>Wan Boo Sow Bahasa Prize was established with effect from Semester 1 AY2017-18 to recognize NUS undergraduate students with a single or second major in Chinese Studies or Chinese Language, or minor in Chinese Studies or Chinese Language or Chinese Translation and have read any level of Bahasa Indonesia and Malay language courses offered by the Centre for Language Studies. For more details of the award, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/cls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2020\/10\/WanBooSowBahasaPrize_26_5_2017.pdf\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>NUS Malay Studies Bahasa Prize<\/strong><\/p>\nNUS Malay Studies Bahasa Prize was established with effect from AY2020-21 to recognize NUS undergraduate students who complete Bahasa Indonesia or Malay language courses offered by Centre for Language Studies and MS-coded courses (offered by the Department of Malay Studies). For more details of the award, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/mls\/awards-and-prizes\/\">here<\/a>.\n<p><em>The department reserves the right to not award any Scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final.
