Through the course, students will acquire basic linguistic and socio-cultural knowledge of the Spanish language. All participants will acquire basic grammar and vocabulary to perform authentic communicative tasks in everyday situations.<\/p>\n<p>After the course, the students will be able to comprehend short texts, as well as to express themselves in a variety of topical situations in daily life as well as during personal interactions. They will also gain an understanding of the target language society and observe how the language is used in context. They will acquire language learning and communication strategies that will support their language learning and language use.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tPre-requisites\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/clslang\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2020\/09\/8a-1-207x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"309\" height=\"448\" \/><strong>NO MINIMUM STANDARD REQUIRED FOR EMBARKING ON THE COURSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Persons with no prior knowledge in Spanish Language are welcome to attend Level 1 of the course. It has been designed from a communication-oriented approach, so that the students are able to communicate in Spanish practicing what they have learnt in Spanish 3, as well as all new content. Every lesson is aimed at clear communication objectives that will be obtained through practice and through exposure to real materials from Spanish-speaking countries. The course also intends to widen the students&#8217; perspective of the Spanish-speaking world, and strong emphasis will be placed on the cultural aspects of the language.\n<p><strong>Course Content:<\/strong><\/p>\nUnit 1:<br \/>\n\u2192 Grammar: revisi\u00f3n of the present tense, verbs &#8216;costar&#8217; and &#8216;sentirse&#8217;, para\/porque, desde hace&#8230;<br \/>\n\u2192 Vocabulary: feelings (to feel embarrassed, insecure, happy, curious, frustrated&#8230;).
