CNM Graduate Student Conference (gCON) 2023

gCON 2023 is the annual graduate student conference hosted by the Department of Communication and New Media. This one day in person event held on 22 Sep 2023 is an opportunity for Communications and New Media (CNM) and Cultural Studies in Asia (CSA) graduate students to share research ideas and thoughts with their fellow students and professors from the department.

This year, the conference will be centered around the theme of "Media, Borders, and Transformations: Rethinking the Role of Media in Shaping Societies and Cultures." It will cover a wide range of topics, including inter-fandom hierarchies, body positivity, collective intelligence, and human-chatbot relationships. We believe that these discussions will capture the essence of transformation and present a hopeful vision for the future as we move into a post-pandemic era.
