This group is designed to bring together graduate students and faculty at NUS and neighboring institutions to meet across and beyond disciplinary boundaries in an informal setting. Our aim is to promote intellectually rigorous discussion of and theoretical engagement with “classic” texts and cutting-edge works in queer and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) studies. In addition, we will occasionally hold writing workshops for works in progress.

  Sessions

Sessions are held on a monthly basis during the academic term at CNM.

Below are upcoming sessions for 2020/2021 Semester 1 (Fall 2020):

Launch of the Gender and Sexuality Research Cluster (GSRC)
Steering Committee (Faculty at NUS): Prof. Tracey Skelton, Mie Hiramoto, Michelle Ho, Rebecca Starr, and YUEN Shu Min

18 September 2020, Friday, 3 to 5pm
Platform: Zoom

Registration: click here!

Talk by Dr. Jay de los Reyes (National University of Singapore)
Moored Futures: How the Left-Behind Are Aspiring in a Mobile World

2 October 2020, Friday, 3 to 4:30pm
Platform: Zoom

Registration: click here!

Talk by Prof. Jeannine Tang (The New School)
Queer Materialisms and Contemporary Art

20 October 2020, Tuesday, 7 to 8:30pm
Platform: Zoom
Registration: click here!

      This is a Safe Space

      Organizers

      Previous Sessions

      Support Networks & Groups

Welcome The CNM CRC Queer Studies Reading Group is a transdisciplinary group of scholars who have broad and diverse research interests in gender and sexuality.
