His research interest is microeconomic theory, specifically social phenomena like social norms and bargaining conventions. Sam has a PhD from the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/04\/Screenshot-2022-04-11-at-8.29.32-PM-262x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"218\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/yuchienkong.weebly.com\/\">Kong Yu-Chien<\/a> will join the department as a lecturer. Yu-Chien is currently an adjunct lecturer with the department where she has been teaching quantitative methods for economic analysis. Previously, Yu-Chien was a Senior Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. She has a PhD from the University of Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/04\/Screenshot-2022-04-11-at-8.31.00-PM-262x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"219\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jorismueller.com\/\">Joris Mueller<\/a> will join the department as an Assistant Professor after completing his PhD at Northwestern University. His research areas are political economy, development economics and economic history. Joris is from Switzerland and has a masters\u2019 degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/12\/Naila_Shofia_Profile_Pict-copy-1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/nailashofia-com\/home\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/nailashofia-com\/home\">Naila Shofia<\/a> will join the department as an Assistant Professor from Yale-NUS College. Her research areas are development economics and political economy, with particular emphasis on understanding how culture, religion and social identity influence economic and political outcomes. Naila has a PhD from\u00a0Bocconi University and a masters\u2019 degree from\u00a0the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/04\/image-asset-249x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.takeda-kohei.com\/\">Kohei Takeda<\/a> will join the department as a Presidential Fellow after completing his PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research areas are international trade, economic geography and urban economics. Kohei is from Japan and has a masters\u2019 degree from Kyoto University.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/04\/Screenshot-2022-04-11-at-8.31.45-PM-262x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ao-wang.org\/\">Wang Ao<\/a> will join the department as an Assistant Professor after completing his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. His research areas are behavioural economics and applied microeconomics. Wang Ao completed his bachelors\u2019 degree in Economics and Mathematics at Peking University.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/04\/uw_20211015_0G6A7063-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kwongyuwong.github.io\/\">Wong Kwong-Yu<\/a> will join the department as a lecturer after completing his PhD at the University of Washington. His research areas are empirical industrial organisation, machine learning and applied microeconomics.
