Other types of appeals which are not listed below are not applicable and will be rejected by the Department.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Appeal for Waiver of Pre-requisites<\/li>\n<li>Appeal for Course Enrolment<\/li>\n<li>Appeal to Change Lecture Class<\/li>\n<li>Appeal to Add\/Change Tutorial Class<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The procedure for appeal varies by the type of appeal.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Appeal for Waiver of Pre-requisites<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0 Waiver of pre-requisites is strictly not applicable to EC core courses. Please <strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> write to the course lecturer or the Department to appeal for waiver of pre-requisites for EC2101, EC2102, EC3101, EC3102, EC3303, and EC3304. Appeals which are submitted through CourseReg under type &#8216;Unable to Fulfil Requisites&#8217; for any of the listed core courses will be rejected by default.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 All EC4000 courses have the standard unit and GPA pre-requisite of &#8216;Completed 80 units, including 28 units in EC, with a minimum GPA of 3.20 or be on the Honours track&#8217;. Please <strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> write to the course lecturer or the Department to appeal for a waiver of the unit or the GPA requirement. The Department adheres strictly to the two requirements and does not grant any waiver. All students are required to meet the unit and GPA requirements before they read EC4000 courses. State your full name, NUS matriculation number, purpose of email, reason for requesting the waiver, and attach a copy of your latest NUS unofficial transcript in your email.<\/li>\n<li>If the lecturer approves your appeal, forward a copy of the email approval to <a href=\"mailto:askecon@nus.edu.sg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">askecon@nus.edu.sg<\/a> and follow up with a submission of appeal type &#8216;Unable to Fulfil Requisites&#8217; via CourseReg. State in your online appeal that you have forwarded a copy of the email approval from the course lecturer to the Department&#8217;s general inbox.<\/li>\n<li>The waiver and the CourseReg appeal will be updated accordingly. You have completed ST2334 (or another course which precludes EC2303) instead of EC2303.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You <strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> need to write to the course lecturer.<\/li>\n<li>Submit appeal type &#8216;Unable to Fulfil Requisites&#8217; via CourseReg. State that you have completed and passed ST2334 instead of EC2303.<\/li>\n<li>The waiver and the CourseReg appeal will be updated accordingly. You may proceed with selection of EC3305 in CourseReg after receiving notification from the system that your appeal had been processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Scenario 3:<\/strong> You would like to enrol to EC4343. You have completed and mapped EC3343 from SEP but the credit is not transferred to NUS yet. \u00a0You meet all other requirements of the course (including the unit and GPA of 3.20).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>You <strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> need to write to the course lecturer.<\/li>\n<li>Send a copy of the SEP transcript in an email to <a href=\"mailto:askecon@nus.edu.sg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">askecon@nus.edu.sg<\/a>. Include your full name, NUS matriculation number, and the course code which you are requesting waiver for. Follow up with a submission of appeal type &#8216;Unable to Fulfil Requisites&#8217; via CourseReg. State in your online appeal that you have forwarded a copy of the SEP transcript to the Department&#8217;s general inbox.<\/li>\n<li>If you have not receive the SEP transcript, you may send a screenshot of the final grade received for the SEP course which is captured from the partner university&#8217;s student\/exam portal. The screenshot should clearly capture the partner university&#8217;s name, logo, your full name, the course&#8217;s code, title, and the final grade received for the course.<\/li>\n<li>The waiver and the CourseReg appeal will be updated accordingly. You may proceed with selection of EC4343 in CourseReg after receiving notification from the system that your appeal had been processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4.\u00a0 \u00a0Appeals for Waiver of Pre-requisites may be submitted via CourseReg under appeal type &#8216;Unable to Fulfil Requisites&#8217; from the first day of Round 1 until the last day of Round 3 of the Course Registration period.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Appeal for Course Enrolment<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0 Students may appeal for enrolment to course(s) after Round 3 of course registration has ended. However, if you are appealing for enrolment to two courses out of the five, you should indicate that you require two course for enrolment, not five.<\/li>\n<li>If you are appealing for a course to replace one for which you are already enrolled in, you should state this in the remark\/comment box in your appeal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>E.g. If you are submitting an appeal for EC4324 to replace EC4343 which you are enrolled in. In the comment box, state that &#8216;I will drop EC4343 if my appeal for EC4324 is successful&#8217;. The Department will drop EC4343 on your behalf so that EC4324 can be added to your timetable. Note that the Department is able to drop courses which are offered by the Department of Economics. Course drop cannot be performed for courses which are not offered by the Department of Economics, eg FIN2701X, CS1010S, MA1102R etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>If you wish to overload for the semester, you should seek approval from the FASS Dean&#8217;s Office first. Wait for the approval to be given by the FASS Dean&#8217;s Office and the increase of your workload to be updated into the system first, <u>before<\/u> submitting an appeal for the additional course. Your appeal will be rejected by default if the system detects that you have reached the maximum workload for the semester.<\/li>\n<li>If you have already submitted an appeal, wait for your first appeal to be processed and updated before sending a new appeal.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Do not<\/u><\/strong> appeal for a course which has a lecture\/tutorial\/exam clash with other courses in your timetable. The Department and course lecturers do not have the discretion to waive such clashes. The appeal will be rejected by default.<\/li>\n<li>Appeals are subject to availability of vacancies. Your appeal will be rejected by default if the course which you are appealing for is fully subscribed. You should consider other courses with vacancies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\u00a0 Appeals for Course Enrolment may be submitted via CourseReg under appeal type &#8216;Unable to Secure Course&#8217; from Week 1 to Week 2 of the semester.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 The Department does not accept appeals for course enrolment after Week 2 of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><strong>Appeal to Change Lecture Class<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0 Appeal to change lecture class is not applicable during Round 1 to Round 3 of course registration. If you have been allocated L1 of EC1101E and would like to change to L2 of EC1101E, you may drop L1 and reselect L2 in CourseReg when the rounds are still ongoing. Appeals to change lecture class when course registration is ongoing will be <strong><u>rejected<\/u><\/strong> by default.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Students may submit an appeal to change lecture class after Round 3 has ended. All appeals must be submitted online via CourseReg@EduRec. Appeals through telephone calls or emails will not be considered. Appeals are subject to availability of vacancies in the other lecture group. Your appeal will be rejected by default if the other group which you are appealing to change to is fully subscribed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><strong>Appeal to Add\/Change Tutorial Class<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0 Appeal to add\/change tutorial class is not applicable when &#8216;Select Tutorials Round 1&#8217;, &#8216;Select Tutorials Round 2&#8217;, and &#8216;Add\/Swap Tutorials&#8217; are ongoing. If you have not been allocated the tutorial group of your choice after Round 1, you are expected to submit your choice(s) again in Round 2. If your selection is unsuccessful in Round 2, you should try again in the &#8216;Add\/Swap Tutorials&#8217; round. Appeals to add\/change tutorial class before the end of the &#8216;Add\/Swap Tutorials&#8217; will be <strong><u>rejected<\/u><\/strong> by default.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Students may submit an appeal to add\/change tutorial class after the &#8216;Add\/Swap Tutorials&#8217; round has ended. All appeals must be submitted online via CourseReg@EduRec. Appeals through telephone calls or emails will not be considered. Appeals are subject to availability of vacancies in the tutorial group. Your appeal will be rejected if the tutorial group which you are appealing to add\/change is fully subscribed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0 Students are not allowed to change tutorial group from Week 5 of the semester.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 All students are required to be formally registered to one tutorial group for courses with lecture+tutorial teaching format. Students who are not registered to a tutorial group will be asked to drop the course. Students who are unable to register for a tutorial group due to a clash in lecture\/tutorial clash with another course will also be asked to drop the course. Eg; You are enrolled in EC3333. You are unable to register for any of the tutorial groups for EC3333 because of clashes with your other courses. You will be asked to drop EC3333. The Department does not grant waivers of timetable clash in order to enable students to register for a tutorial group.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 A tutorial group may be closed if there is low enrolment in the group. Students who are registered in a tutorial group with low enrolment (which is subsequently closed) will be asked to move to another tutorial group. If students are unable to move to another tutorial group of the same course, the Department will facilitate a swap of courses. Eg; You are enrolled in EC3333 tutorial group W01. W01 has enrolment of 5 students and will be closed. You are unable to move to other remaining tutorial groups of EC3333 because of timetable clashes. The Department will drop EC3333 on your behalf and facilitate your enrolment to another EC-coded course of your choice. Your enrolment to the other course (for example EC3332) will be subject to availability of vacancies in EC3332 and a tutorial group which could fit into your overall timetable.
