Students should apply for the double major programme through their\u00a0<strong><u>home<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0department.<\/p>\nTo apply for the double major in Economics and Mathematics, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:<br \/>\n1. Year 1 students reading first major in Economics, Mathematics or Applied Mathematics<br \/>\n2. Obtained a CAP of at least 3.50 at the end of the first year of study in NUS; and<br \/>\n3. Passed four qualifying modules in the first year;\n<h3>\n\t\tQualifying Modules\n\t<\/h3>\n\tFor\u00a0<strong>FoS students<\/strong>\u00a0who are reading primary major in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics and applying to read second major in Economics:<br \/>\n\u2022 MA1101R Linear Algebra I<br \/>\n\u2022 MA1102R Calculus<br \/>\n\u2022 MA2216\/ST2131 Probability<br \/>\n\u2022 EC1301 Principles of Economics\nFor\u00a0<strong>FASS students<\/strong>\u00a0who are reading primary major in Economics and applying to read second major in Mathematics:<br \/>\n\u2022 MA1101R Linear Algebra I<br \/>\n\u2022 MA1102R Calculus<br \/>\n\u2022 EC2101 Microeconomics I<br \/>\n\u2022 EC2102 Macroeconomics I\n<p>Students admitted to read this double major will proceed to fulfill the respective second major requirements from semester 1 of their second year. Economics major students should refer to the Department of Mathematics webpage for the requirements for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ww1.math.nus.edu.sg\/undergraduates.aspx?f=UP-MA2\">second major in mathematics<\/a>\u00a0while FoS students can refer to the requirements for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/second-major\/\">second major in EC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tSchedule\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>Schedule for 2019\/2020 admission exercise for Economics major students :<\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" width=\"80%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Application deadline:<\/td>\n<td>17 June 2019<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"174\">Result of application:<\/td>\n<td>Mid-July 2019<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<strong><br \/>\nFASS<\/strong>\u00a0Economics major students matriculated in AY2018\/2019 should apply for second major in Mathematics by completing this\u00a0<a href=\"\/ecs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/06\/DMP-EC-MA-Application-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">application form<\/a>\u00a0and submit to the Department of Economics by email (<a href=\"mailto:askecon@nus.edu.sg\">askecon@nus.edu.sg<\/a>). Please note\u00a0 that in some cases, an interview may be part of this admission exercise.
