\n\t\tSecond Major in Economics (For FASS and Non-FASS students with second major in Economics)\n\t<\/h2>\n

\n\t\tSTUDENTS MATRICULATED IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2013\/2014\n\t<\/h3>\n\tStudents who wish to graduate with a second major in Economics must accumulate\u00a0at least 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules<\/strong><\/u>, which must include the following:\n(1) EC1101E Introduction to Economic Analysis\u00a0OR<\/strong>\u00a0EC1301 Principles of Economics\u00a0(see Note 1<\/em>)<\/strong>
\n(2) EC2101 Microeconomic Analysis I
\n(3) EC2102 Macroeconomic Analysis I\u00a0(see Note 2<\/em>)<\/strong>
\n(4) EC2104 Quantitative Methods for Economic Analysis\u00a0(see Note 3<\/em>)<\/strong>
\n(5) EC2303 Foundations for Econometrics\u00a0(see Note 4<\/em>)<\/strong>
\n(6) EC3101 Microeconomic Analysis II
\n(7) EC3102 Macroeconomic Analysis II
\n(8) EC3303 Econometrics I\u00a0(see Note 5<\/em>)<\/strong>
\n(9) A minimum of 20 MCs of EC modules at level-3000 or higher (including EC3101, EC3102 and EC3303)
\n(10)A maximum of 8 MCs of EC-recognised modules (double counting) for major programme\n

Note 1: BSP1005\/BSP1703, RE1704 are preclusion modules for EC1101E\/EC1301. Students who have passed BSP1005\/BSP1703 or RE1704 need not read EC1101E\/EC1301. Please note that BSP1005\/BSP1703 or RE1704 are not a replacement for EC1101E\/EC1301. Students who have passed BSP1005\/BSP1703 or RE1704 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Second Major in Economics programme. The modular credits for BSP1005\/BSP1703 or RE1704 are not counted towards the requirements for the Second Major in Economics programme.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Note 2: BSP2001,BSE3701 are preclusion modules for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 need not read EC2102. Please note that BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not a replacement for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the\u00a0Second Major\u00a0in Economics programme. The modular credits for BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not counted towards the requirements for the\u00a0Second Major\u00a0in Economics programme.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Note 3: Any MA module that is not MA1301\/MA1301FC\/MA1301X or MA1311 or MA1312 or MA1421 is a preclusion to EC2104. Students who have passed any MA module that is not MA1301\/MA1301FC\/MA1301X or MA1311 or MA1312 or MA1421 need not read EC2104. Students who have passed any MA module that is not MA1301\/MA1301FC\/MA1301X or MA1311 or MA1312 or MA1421 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Second Major in Economics programme. Students who have passed EC2104 are not allowed to count more than one level-1000 MA module together with EC2104 towards the Economics major requirements.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\nNote 4: All ST modules, DSC1007\/DSC1007X, MA2216 are preclusion modules for EC2303. Students who have passed any\u00a0ST module or DSC1007\/DSC1007X or MA2216 need not read EC2303. Students who have passed any\u00a0 ST module or DSC1007\/DSC1007X or MA2216 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Second Major in Economics programme.<\/em><\/strong>

\nNote 5: ST3131 is a preclusion to EC3303. Students who have passed ST3131 need not read EC3303. Students who have passed ST3131 are required to read any level-3000 EC elective to meet the minimum of 48 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Second\u00a0Major in Economics programme.<\/em><\/strong>
