{"id":462,"date":"2020-09-22T07:49:45","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T07:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/?page_id=462"},"modified":"2020-09-22T03:59:06","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T03:59:06","slug":"minor-incoming-2017-2018-onwards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/minor-incoming-2017-2018-onwards\/","title":{"rendered":"Minor in Economics Programme (STUDENTS MATRICULATED IN AY 2014\/2015 TO AY 2016\/2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t\tMinor in Economics Programme\n\t<\/h2>\n<h4>\n\t\tSTUDENTS MATRICULATED IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017\/2018 ONWARDS<br>(FASS\u00a0and\u00a0Non-FASS*\u00a0students)\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<p><strong>Please note the following requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\nPass at least 24 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules, which include the following:<br \/>\n(1) EC1101E Introduction to Economic Analysis OR EC1301 Principles of Economics (See Note 1)<br \/>\n(2) EC2101 Microeconomic Analysis I OR EC2102 Macroeconomic Analysis I (See Note 2)<br \/>\n(3) A maximum of 8 MCs of EC-recognised modules (double counting) for minor programme<br \/>\nNote 1: BSP1703, RE1704 are preclusion modules for EC1101E\/EC1301.\n<p>Students who have passed BSP1703 need not read EC1101E\/EC1301. Please note that BSP1703 is not a replacement for EC1101E\/EC1301. Students who have passed BSP1703 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 24 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Minor in Economics programme. The modular credits for BSP1703 is not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have passed RE1704 need not read EC1101E\/EC1301. RE1704 is an EC-recognised module that can be counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Note 2: BSP2001,BSE3701 are preclusion modules for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 need not read EC2102. Please note that BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not a replacement for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised module to meet the minimum of 24 MCs of EC-coded or EC-recognised modules for the Minor in Economics programme. The modular credits for BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Note 3: EC-prefixed module exemptions (with &#8216;EXE&#8217; grade) cannot be counted towards the EC minor requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Note 4: EC minor is offered to non-FASS students<strong>\u00a0<em>(except Business students who specialised in Business Economics)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and to FASS students.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>*Business students who specialised in Business Economics are not allowed to graduate with a Minor in
