{"id":9234,"date":"2021-06-16T02:29:54","date_gmt":"2021-06-16T02:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/?page_id=9234"},"modified":"2023-02-22T16:14:48","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T08:14:48","slug":"students-matriculated-in-ay2019-20-and-ay2020-21-minor-in-econs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/ecs\/students-matriculated-in-ay2019-20-and-ay2020-21-minor-in-econs\/","title":{"rendered":"Students Matriculated in AY2019\/20 and AY2020\/21 (Minor in Econs)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t\tMinor in Economics \n\t<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\tSTUDENTS MATRICULATED IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2019\/20 AND ACADEMIC YEAR 2020\/21 \n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>(FASS<strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/strong>Non-FASS<strong>*<\/strong>\u00a0students)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note the following requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\nPass at least 20 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses, which include the following:<br \/>\n(1) EC1101E Introduction to Economic Analysis (See Note 1)<br \/>\n(2) EC2101 Microeconomic Analysis I and\/or EC2102 Macroeconomic Analysis I (See Note 2)<br \/>\n(3) A maximum of 8 units of EC-recognised courses (double counting) for minor programme.\n<p><strong>Note 1:<\/strong> BSP1703\/1703X, RE1704 are preclusion courses for EC1101E\/EC1301. Students who have passed BSP1703\/1703X need not read EC1101E. Please note that BSP1703\/1703X is not a replacement for EC1101E. Students who have passed BSP1703\/1703X are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised course to meet the minimum of 20 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses for the Minor in Economics programme. The units for BSP1703\/1703X is not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have passed RE1704 need not read EC1101E. RE1704 is an EC-recognised course that can be counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have read and passed EC1301 may still count the course towards the Minor in Economics. EC1301 is a preclusion to EC1101E.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 2:<\/strong> BSP2001, BSE3701 are preclusion courses for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 need not read EC2102. Please note that BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not a replacement for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised course to meet the minimum of 20 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses for the Minor in Economics programme. The units for BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p>Students may read both EC2101 and EC2102, or one of the two courses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 3:<\/strong> EC-prefixed course exemptions (with ‘EXE’ grade) cannot be counted towards the Minor in Economics programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 4:<\/strong> The Minor in Economics programme is offered to non-FASS students<strong>\u00a0<em>(with the exception of Business students who specialised in Business Economics)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and to FASS students.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>*Business students who specialised in Business Economics are not allowed to graduate with a Minor in Economics.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<strong><u>EC-recognised courses for MINOR Programme<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<em>(Note: These courses are NOT applicable to students pursuing the Major in Economics and Second Major in Economics
