\n\t\tGraduation Requirements\n\t<\/h4>\n\t

To major in English Language, students need to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Pass EL1101E The Nature of Language. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.<\/li>\n
  2. Pass at least 44 units of EL or EL-recognised courses which include the following:
    \n(1) \u00a0EL2101 Structure of Sentences and Meanings
    \n(2) \u00a0EL2102 Sound Patterns in Language
    \n(3) \u00a0EL2111 Historical Variation in English
    \n(4) \u00a0EL2151 Social Variation in English
    \n(5) \u00a0A minimum of 20 units at level 3000 or higher.
    \n(6) \u00a0A maximum of 12 units of EL-recognised courses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nNote:
    \nA maximum of 12 units from the following EL-recognised courses may be read to fulfil EL Major requirements:
