{"id":17390,"date":"2025-11-30T03:49:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T19:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/geog\/?page_id=17390"},"modified":"2026-01-05T06:38:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T22:38:32","slug":"safety-health-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/geog\/safety-health-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety &#038; Health Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>\n\t\tSafety and Health Policy\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The Department of Geography is committed to developing and promoting a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff, and visitors to the Department.<\/p>\n<p>The Department is committed to:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Comply with all applicable safety and health laws and regulations, NUS policies and directives, and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Prevent the occurrence of injury and health problems through proactive hazard identification and risk assessment, and implementation of risk control measures and training needs.<\/li>\n<li>Provide adequate resources to implement the Safety and Health Management System and programs. This will provide a broad framework for the department&#8217;s activities including our specialized activities in laboratories and fieldwork. The Safety and Health Management System will be reviewed periodically for continual improvement and to ensure its relevance.<\/li>\n<li>Establish an easy and direct way to communicate the Safety and Health Management System and programs to all stakeholders in the Department to create awareness of the Department&#8217;s commitment and everyone&#8217;s responsibility to build a safer and healthier work environment.<\/li>\n<li>Build a positive safety and health culture by encouraging a safety-first approach, which is achieved by installing a strong sense of personal responsibility for one&#8217;s safety and health. Safety is everyone&#8217;s responsibility!<\/li>\n<li>All stakeholders in the Department have the right to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
