Application deadline is 15 May 2026 for the January 2027 intake.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Congratulations to<strong data-start=\"87\" data-end=\"142\"> Assistant Professor Nathan Green<\/strong>, who was recognised at this year&#8217;s American Association of Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting with <strong data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"268\">Outstanding Paper Awards<\/strong> from both the <strong data-start=\"283\" data-end=\"317\">Cultural and Political Ecology<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"322\" data-end=\"364\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Development Geography Specialty Groups<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>His award-winning paper, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/24694452.2025.2482098\">Maximizing Finance for Sustainable Development: Microfinance, Debt-Driven Deforestation, and the Self-Regulation of Environmental Harm<\/a>,&#8221; published in the <em data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"599\">Annals of the American Association of Geographers<\/em>, was honoured for its impactful contribution to critical debates on sustainability, finance, and environmental harm.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Department of Geography proudly hosted the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.nus.edu.sg\/30th-nus-geography-challenge\/\"><strong>30th NUS Geography Challenge<\/strong><\/a>, a landmark edition that welcomed nearly 500 students from over 120 secondary schools across Singapore.
