{"id":10976,"date":"2025-02-07T12:44:36","date_gmt":"2025-02-07T12:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/globalstudies\/?page_id=10976"},"modified":"2026-02-02T13:03:47","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T13:03:47","slug":"geneva","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/globalstudies\/geneva\/","title":{"rendered":"Geneva"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NUS collaborated with the University of Geneva to participate in a diplomacy negotiation simulation that took place in Geneva from May 2025.\u00a0 The department of Political Science and Global Studies programme sent four students to the simulation.\u00a0 During the simulation, teams of students discussed and debated the topic of autonomous weapons in warfare.\u00a0 <strong>The simulation will take place in Geneva on May 19 and 20, 2026. \u00a0Classes will begin on 17 February 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the event, NUS students attended ten 2-hour seminars over Zoom from February to April.\u00a0 The sessions took place on Tuesday evenings from 9:00pm to 11:00pm.\u00a0 During these sessions, NUS students met with students from the University of Geneva, University of Zurich, and ETH.\u00a0 They formed teams and engaged in activities that helped prepare them for the simulation.\u00a0 In Geneva, students met with diplomats and representatives from prominent international organizations.\u00a0 Please see attached syllabus for more information.\u00a0 Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and may request letter of reference.<\/p>\n<p>NUS will provide $1000 per student to cover airfare.\u00a0 We are also currently working with the University of Geneva to secure accommodations.
