Labour regimes are seen as historically formed, multi-scalar phenomena resulting from the articulation of struggles over local social relations, often intersecting with the commercial demands of lead-firms in globalised production networks and with the gendered and racialized politics of social reproduction. This two day closed workshop was designed to develop and deepen debate on the current scope and potential of labour regime analysis for understanding dynamics of global production in contemporary capitalism. It stemmed from existing individual and collective work among several of the participants that has explicitly sought to theorise labour regimes or labour control regimes. This workshop was jointly organised by GPN@NUS Centre with Centre of Labour and Global Production of Queen Mary University of London. This workshop was held from 7-8 January 2019 at Anomalous Space, United Kingdom.

View program here.

Photos of the workshop can be perused here.

 10 – 11 DEC 2018

Workshop on ‘Emerging Production Networks of Fintech’

Fintech, a shorthand for ‘financial technology’, brings together firms and actors from the finance industry and technology and innovation clusters in changing the ways that capital raising, financial transactions and investment decisions are being made, often through the use of big data, online platforms and mobile technologies.
