Minor

Check the graduation requirements for your cohort:

Minor (Cohort 2021 Onwards)

Pass at least 20 units of JS or JS-recognised or LAJ courses, which include the following:

  1. JS1101E
  2. a minimum of 4 units of JS courses at level-3000
  3. a maximum of 8 units (in total) of the following:
    i. LAJ courses
    ii. JS-recognised courses

Minor (Cohort 2019 to 2020)

Pass at least 20 units of JS or JS-recognised (for minor) or LAJ courses, which include the following:

  1. JS1101E
  2. a minimum of 4 units of JS courses at level-3000
  3. a maximum of 8 units (in total) of the following:
    1. LAJ courses
    2. JS-recognised courses

Notes:

  • LAJ1201, LAJ2201, LAJ2202, LAJ2203, LAJ3201, LAJ3202, LAJ3203, LAJ3204, LAJ3205, LAJ4203 and LAJ4205 offered by the Centre for Language Studies can count towards Japanese Studies graduation requirements.

Minor (Cohort 2006 to 2018)

Pass at least 24 units of JS or JS-recognised (for minor) or LAJ courses, which include the following:

  1. JS1101E
  2. a minimum of 4 units of Japanese language courses (LAJ), subject to a maximum of 12 units
  3. a minimum of 4 units of JS courses at level-3000

Notes:

  • LAJ1201, LAJ2201, LAJ2202, LAJ2203, LAJ3201, LAJ3202, LAJ3203, LAJ3204, LAJ3205, LAJ4203 and LAJ4205 offered by the Centre for Language Studies can count towards Japanese Studies graduation requirements.
