Natalie is an MA student who is interested in uncovering and examining queer stories both in Japan and Singapore. She spent her undergraduate years at NUS where she pursued a double major in both History and Japanese Studies. She became especially interested in studying queer Japanese films after taking several film and popular culture related modules and exploring the development of queer film in new wave cinema. Her current research interest lies in queer studies and film history, in particular understanding the relationship between popular culture and queer culture and the conversations surrounding them.
