Zhang Yue is an MA student who is interested in learning more about fantastical setsuwa tales, an amorphous form of popular literature in pre-modern Japan. Her thesis will explore the concept of boundary and liminality in Konjaku Monogatarishū, an important setsuwa collection. Zhang Yue graduated from NUS with a BA(Honours) degree in Japanese Studies. Before returning to NUS to pursue her Master's degree, she worked briefly as a financial analyst at a derivatives exchange.
