Single Major [B.A. (Hons.)]<\/h3>\n

To major in Japanese Studies, students need to:<\/p>\n

Pass at least 60 units of JS courses or JS-recognised courses<\/a> or LAJ courses which include the following:<\/p>\n

  1. JS1101E<\/li>\n
  2. JS2101<\/li>\n
  3. JS3101<\/li>\n
  4. LAJ1201 (Note 1)<\/li>\n
  5. LAJ2201 (Note 1)<\/li>\n
  6. LAJ2202 (Note 1)<\/li>\n
  7. LAJ2203 (Note 1)<\/li>\n
  8. LAJ3201 or LAJ3203 or LAJ3202 or LAJ3204 or LAJ3205 (Note 1)<\/li>\n
  9. a minimum of 36 units at level-3000 (including JS3101 and LAJ3201 or LAJ3203 or LAJ3202 or LAJ3204 or LAJ3205) or higher, with:
    \ni. a minimum of 20 units at level-4000 or higher
    \nii. a maximum of 1 level-5000 JS course (subject to department’s approval)<\/li>\n
  10. maximum of 8 units of JS-recognised courses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nNote 1: <\/strong>Students who have been given a waiver from LAJ course(s) should read JS course(s) to make up the minimum units required.
    \nNote 2: <\/strong>LAJ4203 and LAJ4205 cannot be counted towards JS major requirements.\n
