Cohort 2026 onwards<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pass at least 60 Units of MS courses which include the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. MS1102E Understanding the Contemporary Malay World.<\/li>\n
  2. MS4101 Theory and Practice in Malay Studies<\/li>\n
  3. A minimum of 16 Units at level-3000<\/li>\n
  4. A minimum of 12 Units <\/strong>at level-4000 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCohort 2021 to 2025\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Single Major [B.A. (Hons)]<\/strong><\/p>\n

    To major in MS, students need to meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

    Pass at least 60 Units of MS courses which include the following:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. MS1102E Understanding the Contemporary Malay World.<\/li>\n
    2. MS4101 Theory and Practice in Malay Studies<\/li>\n
    3. A minimum of 16 Units at level-3000<\/li>\n
    4. A minimum of 20 Units at level-4000 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Note: B.A. without Honours is no longer offered from Cohort 2021 onwards.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCohort 2016 to 2020\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Single Major [B.A. (Hons)]<\/strong><\/p>\n

      To major in MS, students need to meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Pass MS1102E: Understanding the Contemporary Malay World. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.<\/li>\n
      2. Pass at least 84 Units of MS courses or MS-recognised courses which include the following:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n(a) MS4101 (4 Units) or MS4101HM (5 Units)
        \n(b) a maximum of 27 Units of MS-recognised courses, of which:\n(i) a maximum of 15 Units are at level-4000
        \n(ii) a maximum of ONE from the following: (optional not compulsory)
        \n<\/em>– <\/i>GE2101
        \n– HY2241
        \n– PS3257
        \n– SC2101
        \n– PH2110
        \n– PH3201
        \n– SC3101\n
          \n
        1. Pass a minimum of 57 Units of MS courses at level-2000 or higher, of which:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n(i) a minimum of 12 Units are at level-2000
          \n(ii) a minimum of 20 Units are at level-3000
          \n(iii) a minimum of 25 Units are at level-4000 (including MS4101 or
          \nMS4101HM)\n
            \n
          1. Pass a minimum of 40 Units at level-4000 or higher<\/li>\n
          2. Pass a maximum of 4 Units of level-5000 MS courses (subject to department’s approval)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Single Major (B.A.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

            To major in MS, students need to meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Pass MS1102E: Understanding the Contemporary Malay World. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.<\/li>\n
            2. Pass at least 44 Units of MS courses or MS-recognised modules which include the following:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n(i) a maximum of 12 Units MS-recognised courses, of which:
              \n(a) maximum of ONE from the following: (optional not compulsory)
              \n<\/em>– <\/i>GE2101
              \n– HY2241
              \n– PS3257
              \n– SC2101
              \n– PH2110
              \n– PH3201
              \n– SC3101
              \n
              \n(ii) a minimum of 32 Units of MS courses at level 2000 or higher, of which:\n(a) a minimum of 12 Units at level-2000
              \n(b) a minimum of 20 Units at level-3000\nNote:<\/strong>
