With time, encouragement and opportunities to practise, learners can develop greater confidence and proficiency.<\/p>\n<p>He also encouraged the community to view Malay as more than a means of communication, describing proficiency in the language as a form of <strong>\u201ccultural capital\u201d<\/strong> that provides access to knowledge, literature and communities across the wider region.
