Internship Opportunity for Students

The Next Age Institute (NAI) is inviting applications for the NAI Internship Programme. The Centre is providing on-the-job training opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. From having the opportunity to work with the Principal Investigators (PIs) in NAI with their research projects, to organizing Centre related events such as research seminars and conferences, NAI interns will benefit largely from their posting with NAI.

Opportunity under the Financial Capacity and Asset Building Initiative

In collaboration with Washington University in St. Louis, NAI is developing a curriculum on Financial Capability and Asset Building (FCAB) for use by social workers in their work with low income vulnerable families on managing their household finances and gain access to appropriate service. The aim is to introduce the Singapore FCAB Curriculum as part of on-going professional education to benefit social work practitioners. By integrating knowledge of financial capability building into professional practice, social workers will be empowered to guide and support low-income vulnerable families to make informed decisions that will heighten their potential for positive change in their family situations. The intern will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) of the initiative in drafting the Singapore FCAB curriculum.

Job description and Responsibilities

  • Performing literature search and reviews on topics related to the Singapore FCAB curriculum development;
  • Drafting the curriculum for the module(s) under the Singapore FCAB curriculum development; and
  • Any other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • At least Year 3/ Year 4 students majoring or minoring in Social Work
  • Able to commit for at least 3 months
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • We welcome students who have the willingness to learn, demonstrate initiative at work, and know how to work in a team but can also work independently when necessary
