Two Ky\u014dgen actors from the Shigeyama family: Shigeyama Doji and\u00a0Shimada Hiromi to conduct workshops and lecture demonstrations. The last day of the Ky\u014dgen week, 20 October was a symposium titled \u201cSymposium on Traditional Performance: Perspectives from Japan and Southeast Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The five-day program was organized by Associate Professor Lim Beng Choo with support from Dr Miguel Escobar Varela from\u00a0Theater Studies Program, Department of English Language and Literature; the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Singapore Foundation; the Mitsui NUS Japanese Studies Southeast Asia Fund.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/performct\/kyogen-week-and-traditional-performance-symposium\/\" target=\"_self\" role=\"button\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGo to Kyogen Week and Traditional Performance Symposium\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"\/performct\/contemporary-tradition-japanese-performance-genre-today\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/performct\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/CTJPGT_banner-1024x271-1.jpg\" alt=\"CTJPGT_banner-1024x271\" height=\"271\" width=\"1024\" title=\"CTJPGT_banner-1024x271\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p>\u201cContemporary Tradition \u2013 Japanese Performance Genre Today\u201d is a three-day conference (Oct 13 \u2013 15, 2016) organized by Associate Professor Lim Beng Choo from the\u00a0Department of Japanese Studies,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NUS<\/a>, \u00a0with support from the Japan Foundation, \u00a0the Japan Creative Centre \u00a0and the Arts House.
