Research Interest: Ageing and Health; Inequality; Family; Social Policy; Quantitative Methods
Zuqi Cai is a PhD student in Sociology at the National University of Singapore. She holds a Master of Economics (Quantitative Track) from NUS and has worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR), NUS, for over two years. Her research draws on longitudinal and population data from Singapore, China, and Southeast Asia to examine how social and family contexts shape health, care, and inequality in later life. Her current work includes LEAP-based research on time use, productive ageing, and income sources, alongside studies of cognitive and functional health among older adults. More broadly, she seeks to identify diverse, feasible, and equitable ways to support health, dignity, and well-being in later life, and to understand how family and social policy can reduce inequalities in ageing.
