Graduate Coursework Programme

Graduate Coursework Programme

Programme Overview

The Graduate Certificates, offered by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at NUS, are flexible programmes that allow students to deepen their expertise in one of three key thematic areas:

  • Global Asia
  • Population, Aging, and Health
  • Culture, Society, and Economy

These Graduate Certificate programmes are tailored for professionals and lifelong learners seeking targeted knowledge and skills with relevance to contemporary social challenges. Each certificate can be pursued independently or stacked toward a Graduate Diploma or the full Master of Arts (Global Sociology and Anthropology), offering multiple pathways for academic progression and professional development.

Students will engage with advanced Sociological and Anthropological frameworks while applying them to real-world issues, particularly in the Asian context. Whether you're starting with a single certificate or planning to progress toward a master's degree, these programmes offer the flexibility and depth to meet your educational and career goals.
