Research Interest: Political Sociology, Political Economy, Social Movements
Gwendaline is currently a master’s candidate in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. She had obtained her bachelor’s degree from the same department in 2019 and thereafter worked as a research officer in the Singapore Prison Service and as a teaching assistant at NUS prior to her candidature.
Research:
Her research interests lie in how politics, policies and the economy affect the experiences of the society. Specifically, her thesis research focuses on the housing policies and economy in Singapore and how they affect single youths under 35 years old in relation to their attainment and perceptions of adulthood milestones such as marriage and parenthood and how it affects their self-identities and familial relationships.
