Qin Huazhi is a PhD student in Sociology at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at National University of Singapore.National University of Singapore. Her research interests include education and migration, with a focus on Chinese diasporas in Southeast Asia. Her doctoral project examines the reasons and experiences of Chinese families with school-aged children migrating to Thailand for international education.

Prior to NUS, she obtained a M.A in Social Science at the University of Chicago. Her master's thesis focused on the cultural and social implications of China's private tutoring market
