Research Interest: Working poor, young people, gender, precarity, Singapore, S. Korea

Aryung Kim is a Sociology Ph.D. student and affiliated with the Social Service Research Centre at NUS. Her research interests include poverty, young people, gender, precarious works, job mobility, and life course. Before joining NUS, she worked for a public institute as a researcher in Korea. She holds an M.Sc. in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor in Sociology from the Pusan National University.

Aryung Kim is involved in "In-work Poverty and Challenges of Getting By Among the Young" project of the Social Service Research Centre at NUS. Her dissertation explores young working poor’s life and works with cases of Singapore and South Korea.
