Research Interest: Ageing and Health; Population Studies; Cognition; Lifelong Learning; Inequality
Yuanying Liu is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on ageing, lifelong learning, and social inequality, with a particular interest in how older adults acquire and sustain literacies. Combining quantitative analysis with qualitative interviews, her work examines how intergenerational ties, life course trajectories, and social contexts shape learning pathways and their implications for health and well-being. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and has contributed to research on education in later life, digital inclusion, health, and demographic transitions in Asia.
