From its earliest beginning, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at NUS has combined the disciplines of Sociology and Anthropology. Graduate students can benefit from learning a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches within both disciplines.
Overview
We offer a Master of Social Sciences in Sociology programme as well as a comprehensive PhD programme where students undertake training on the Sociology or Anthropology track. Our programme represents diverse theoretical traditions and emphasizes both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies such as statistical analyses of survey data and ethnography. Your graduate journey will be guided by a professor who serves as your dissertation advisor and academic mentor.
