Research Interest: Disability Anthropology, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Critical Disability Studies, Care

Priyasha Choudhary (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, National University of Singapore (NUS). For her doctoral research she wishes to explore the lived experiences of disabled queer adults in India in the context of dating and romantic agency, exploring how ableism and heteropatriarchy shape intimacy and desire. She has worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands and as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, India,  contributing to projects on intellectual disability, gender, and long-term care. Trained across the core social sciences, she draws on critical disability studies, socio-cultural anthropology, and feminist studies to examine how ableism and patriarchy shape care and kinship. Her work centers lived experience and is methodologically anchored in crip and feminist approaches.
