HT is done over two regular semesters without taking a Leave of Absence (LOA) in between.<\/p>\r\n<p>For cohort 2020 and before: SC4401HM Honours Thesis is worth 15 units in total.<\/p>\r\n<p>For cohort 2021 onwards: SC4401 \/ AN4401 Honours Thesis is worth 8 units in total.<\/p>\r\n<p><em><strong>For HT&#8217;s eligibility\/criteria check, please click on the &#8220;GUIDELINES&#8221; Button on the right.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n<h4>Forms and Guidelines<\/h4>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/socanth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/12\/AY2526-Honours-Thesis-Working-Title-Form-v1.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> HONOURS THESIS WORKING TITLE\/SUPERVISOR NAME <\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/socanth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/12\/AY2526-Honours-Thesis-Final-Title-Form-v1.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> HONOURS THESIS FINAL TITLE <\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/socanth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2026\/03\/UG-HT_Guidelines_March-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> GUIDELINES <\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Supervisor<\/h3>\r\n<p>We strongly encourage students to choose a topic and find an academic staff member who agrees to supervise your work before applying for the Honours Thesis. The department will not help students to look for a supervisor.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Honours Year Colloquium<\/h3>\r\n<p>Students embarking on their Honours Thesis are required to attend a compulsory Honours Year colloquium\/briefing conducted by the department&#8217;s HT\/ISC coordinator before registering for the Honour Thesis. The department will be sending out an email in January for students who intend to take their HT in Semester 1 of the academic year.
