Research Interest: <\/em>Queer studies\/theory, Political economy, Ethnography, Visual methods<\/p>\n

Ding\u00a0is currently a master’s candidate in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. In 2019,\u00a0Ding\u00a0obtained their bachelor’s degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia.\u00a0Ding\u00a0has also worked professionally for several years in human resources, NGOs, and diversity and inclusion (DEI).<\/p>\nResearch:<\/strong>
\nDing’s research interests revolve broadly around sexuality and the political economy. More specifically, they seek to understand how capitalism evolves and how queerness (or sexualities that are considered ‘unproductive’) are entangled and enmeshed within regimes of accumulation and (re)production.\u00a0Ding’s current research project investigates how heteronormative housing policies in Singapore have resulted in young queer Singaporeans turning to the private rental sector. Using ethnography and participatory photography, this project aims to understand how these processes have shaped queer Singaporeans, and in\u00a0turn\u00a0how they have made meaning out of these changes.\n\t
