Can I drop a course during the semester of study? What if I am absent from examination? Expand<\/i><\/button><\/a><\/p>\r\n A student who is absent in the examination of a course without a valid reason acceptable to the Board of Examiners will be given an ‘F’ (Fail) grade for the course student is absent in.<\/p>\r\n
Can I apply for Special Consideration for examination? – GPA below 3.00 (but \u22652.50) for three consecutive semesters; or<\/p>\r\n
– GPA below 2.50 for two consecutive semesters.<\/p>\r\n

To fulfil the graduation requirements, a student must:<\/p>\r\n
– read and pass 5 core courses (20 units) and 5 elective courses (20 units);<\/p>\r\n
– obtained a minimum GPA of 3.00.<\/p>\r\n
Can I repeat a course? Expand<\/i><\/button><\/a><\/p>\r\n Where a course is required for the graduate candidature and the minimum grade is not met, a student may repeat:<\/p>\r\n
– The same course only once. The improved grade point of the repeat\/replaced course will replace the weaker one in the GPA computation in the semester in which the successful attempt is made; and<\/p>\r\n
– One\u2010third of the curricular requirements not exceeding three courses, whichever is lower.<\/p>\r\n
Please note that students will be charged the per course fee for repeating a course.<\/p>\r\n
Do I need to file for graduation? Expand<\/i><\/button><\/a><\/p>\r\n Graduate coursework students are not required to file for graduation in their final semester of study. They will automatically be eligible to graduate by the semester when they fulfil all the graduation requirements for the programme of study. Students who have completed their graduation requirements are not allowed to delay their graduation.<\/p>\r\n
How do I apply for Leave of Absence?Expand<\/i><\/button><\/a><\/p>\r\n Application for Leave of Absence is to be submitted via the NUS Education Records System<\/a> if students have to be away during their candidature or are unable to read any course in a semester.<\/p>\r\nApplication for a semester-long Leave of Absence must be submitted by the first instructional week (Week 1) of the semester.<\/p>\r\n
If a student applies for leave of absence after the second instructional week (Week 2) of the semester, he or she will be liable to pay fees for the entire semester.<\/p>\r\n
Students who are absent without leave are subject to disciplinary action.<\/p>\r\n
