There will also be academic supervision by the department&#8217;s internship coordinator or committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students are <strong>required to find their own internship<\/strong>, but the department can assist and guide you to platforms like TalentConnect.<\/p>\n<p>Students can intern with any company with the following criterias:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organization\/Company to provides a formal offer and a workplace supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Formal Offer from the Organization\/Company is to be approved by the department&#8217;s internship coordinator or committee.<\/li>\n<li>Statement of Purpose and Letter of Offer or Employment Contract to be approved by the department&#8217;s internship coordinator or committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please write an email to <strong>socbox3@nus.edu.sg<\/strong> if you are interested in the department&#8217;s internship course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The department provides a briefing on every week 3 of semester 1 for each academic year. Department will send out a email to Year 3 and Year 4 students for briefing registration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--ScriptorEndFragment--><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">Mentorship programme\/FASS 2.0 Industry Tracks<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><!--ScriptorStartFragment--><\/p>\n<p>All FASS students are eligible to join the Industry Tracks programme, but it&#8217;s especially beneficial for those seeking structured career guidance.<\/p>\n<p>No formal application is required for registration. Students can follow the track guidelines and consult academic advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Each track lists compatible FASS majors. Students can match their major with the recommended track.<\/p>\n<p>There are five curated tracks, each focused on a major employment sector. These tracks can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/fass.nus.edu.sg\/industry-tracks-fass-2-0\/\">website<\/a> under each track&#8217;s section, including recommended courses and skill-building opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Tracks can be switched during the programme as the programme is flexible. Student can adjust their track as their interests evolve. Tracks are designed to fit within students&#8217; existing degree requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Tracks include both hard skills (e.g., data analysis, digital tools) and soft skills (e.g., communication, teamwork).<\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to pursue internships and mentorships aligned with their track. The tracks are designed to enhance employability by aligning academic learning with industry needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes, students can consult FASS advisors to plan their track progression.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--ScriptorEndFragment--><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">Global Programmes (Student Exchange Programmes &#8211; SEP)<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><!--ScriptorStartFragment--><\/p>\n<p>The Student Exchange Programme (SEP) at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) offers students the chance to study abroad for a semester or a full academic year at one of over 180 partner universities worldwide. We welcome students to participate in exchange to broaden their horizons and gain essential soft skills in preparation for the world after graduation.<\/p>\n<p>You are encouraged to engage in these international opportunities as long as you have met the minimum academic requirements and core course criteria. Additionally, your selected courses must be approved by both the department and partner university. They are shorter in duration than the flagship Student Exchange Programme (SEP) and offer students the opportunity to explore non-traditional destinations in East Asia, Europe and Latin America. Such experiences cultivate a deeper appreciation of the diverse culture and lifestyle of different countries while not affecting your usual academic term.
