\n\tResearch Interest: Death, Linguistic Anthropology, Visual Ethnography<\/em><\/p>\n Research:<\/strong><\/p>\n I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, National University of Singapore. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Southern Luzon State University in the Philippines, where I am currently also a lecturer on study leave.<\/p>\n Tentatively, my dissertation topic investigates the intersections between modernity, death and the state. I am specifically interested in the changing ritual practices of the Singaporean Chinese surrounding death.
