The National University of Singapore (NUS) has achieved its strongest performance in the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) by Subject since the subject rankings were introduced in 2011.<\/p>\n
In the 2026 edition released on 25 March 2026, NUS holds a subject ranking of\u00a0#10<\/a> in Sociology, and its Anthropology programme is ranked #14<\/a>\u00a0worldwide.<\/p>\n Click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0to read more.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Our department mourns the passing of Professor Eddie Kuo, a respected scholar, mentor, and former Head of Sociology (1986-1990).<\/p>\n Professor Kuo’s leadership and vision helped shape the direction of the department during a formative period, leaving a lasting impact on both colleagues and generations of students.
