Her\u00a0PhD project\u00a0explores transforming\u00a0inter-generational, cross-community agrarian relations across the\u00a0Barail\u00a0range\u00a0of hills in\u00a0the Eastern Himalayas.<\/p>\n<p>Focusing specifically on the practice of shifting cultivation, known as jhum in\u00a0this region, her work draws on scholarship around Indigenous knowledge systems,\u00a0tribal land rights,\u00a0identity\u00a0and protective mechanisms in\u00a0North-East\u00a0India.
