Research topic: Migrant Women and Gendered Labor in Beauty Industry
ZHOU Jimin (Lilly) has studied in Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong, experiences that have shaped her transnational academic and professional outlook. She holds a BA in linguistics and education from Shanghai International Studies University and an MA in Anthropology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. During undergraduate years, she was funded by China Scholarship Council to study in the United States for a year. Before pursuing research, she worked as a journalist at a television station and later as a marketing director in the field of international education. Her research interests lie at the intersection of gender, migration, marriage, and law, with a focus on underprivileged women in precarious labor.
