Flux! Mediating Asian Change through > Language, Literature and Performance

August 16, 2012

The NUS Department of English Literature and Literature is organising a two-day Graduate Student conference which seeks to explore the transformation of Asia’s nations. The last two decades have seen many of Asia’s nations rise dramatically to prominence on the world stage. The identities, practices and ways of life of the region’s inhabitants have changed accordingly. These transformations continue apace, and are both reflected in and shaped by the continent’s dizzyingly diverse language, narrative and performance cultures. The aim of this graduate conference is to investigate the nature of these on-going changes within and beyond the borders of Asia, and to examine their social and political consequences.

It will be held at AS7-01 Seminar Rooms ABC, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, on Thursday and Friday 27th and 28th September 2012 from 9.00am-6.00pm.
