Creative Work Highlight: Veteran Theatre Practitioner Mdm Zizi Azah Abdul Majid

March 30, 2016

This week’s post is dedicated to Mdm Zizi Azah Abdul Majid, a veteran theatre practitioner in Singapore. Mdm Zizi Azah was a fellow graduate of FASS majoring in  Philosophy and Sociology. In 2011 Mdm Zizi Azah wrote a play titled Singapore Story: Fatimah’s Last Adventure (Teater Ekamatra, Esplanade Theatre Studio, 23-25 March 2011, Stage Production). Fatimah’s Last Adventure was about the adventures of a little girl and her plastic lion. During her adventure, Fatimah met with characters like Hang Tuah and Sang Nila Utama who have been important in shaping Singapore’s cultural history.

In addition to writing plays, Mdm Zizi Azah has also authored a children’s fiction book with the same title character called Fatimah and Her Magic Socks. To find out more about this book, click here.

Once again, we thank Mdm Zizi Azah for her contributions to the theatre scene in Singapore and wish her all the best in her future work.
