This week we feature In the House of Straw by 13 Little Pictures. In the House of Straw is directed by award-winning local director Yeo Siew Hua, a graduate of the Philosophy Department at FASS. The film is a retelling of the classic story of the three little pigs set in the context of highly urbanized Singapore. It deals with the vice and deception encountered by the main character Zhi Wen and the identity switch he experiences.

In the House of Straw was selected for the Singapore International Film Festival in 2010, and was also in competition for the Golden Kinnaree Award at the Bangkok International Film Festival in 2009. Yeo is also an award-winning director of photography for Ho Tzu Nyen’s The Bohemian Rhapsody Project and Sun Koh’s The Lucky 7 Project. Yeo also directed Waking Monkey (the Substation’s Best Film Award for the Best of First Takes 2007).

We congratulate Director Yeo on his achievements.
