SRN is involved in assisting the FASS Research Division with event organization and research. In addition, SRN is currently engaged in a project to update and maintain a database of creative works such as fiction, poems, plays, musicals, films, travel writings, or other forms of entertaining works of a non-academic nature, along with a database of academic research publications. These works all have relevance to Singapore and have been produced by FASS faculty and students, past and present.
We are currently accepting applications from current FASS undergraduate or graduate students for the position of Graduate Student Researcher or Undergraduate Student Researcher. We need students who possess excellent English language skills as well as an interest in event organization and superior research skills to join our team. Our preferred candidates must be meticulous, possess good interpersonal and managerial skills, have experience in event management, and be prompt with responses to queries. Successful applicants for this position will be able to source for creative works, academic publications, as well as manage their search for other Singapore-related research, to add to the SRN website database. They will also be able to read and understand academic research articles and creative work, and write about them in a clear, accurate, and engaging way. In addition, successful candidates will assist in research, logistics, and manpower for any events organized with SRN.
The application period is for two weeks from 21 February to 7 March 2018 or until the position is filled. Successful applicants will start work in April 2018 and be appointed for a nine month period. The applicants can work up to 64 hours per month. The position may be renewable.
