NUS Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR) Book Launch for Family and Population in Asia
June 5, 2019
On 6th June 2019, the NUS Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR) will be launching the book Family and Population in Asia, jointly edited by CFPR Director Professor Wei-Jun Jean Yeung (NUS Department of Sociology) and Associate Professor Thang Leng Leng (NUS Department of Japanese Studies).
The bilingual book is a collection of 30 essays based on evidential research conducted by research associates from CFPR. Essays are organised based on their specific focus on challenges faced by the family in society such as child development, family change and marriage, changing notions of gender roles in society, older adults, and the interaction between social networks and consumption behaviour.
CFPR was established in April 2014 as a FASS research centre. It is dedicated to the scientific advancement of research and training to understand the trends, determinants, and consequences of family and population changes, particularly in Asia. CFPR aims to bridge basic academic research with public policies that affect family well-being.
The book launch will be held at the Singapore Book Fair 2019 at Capitol Singapore from 12 to 1.30pm.
