PICTURE SINGAPORE – Singapore Research Nexus Photo Contest 2014

 

Submission Guidelines:

Submit your entries with the following content:

Required:

(1) Completed Registration Form (accessible in online format here and PDF format here)

(2) Up to three photographs (JPEG format, maximum 2MB each)

Optional:

(3) The same photographs posted to SRN’s Facebook page (which you have “liked”) at https://www.facebook.com/SingaporeResearchNexus.

Platform of Submission:

•   Step 1 – Email up to three photographs (up to 2MB per photograph) to       singaporeresearchnexus@gmail.com. (Required)

•   Step 2 – Post the same submitted photographs on the SRN Facebook page after “liking” the page (Optional)

The photograph which has the most number of “Likes” on the SRN Facebook page as of Friday, August 22^nd, 2014 at 12:00pm will receive our Popular Choice Award, worth $100.

Submission Deadline: Friday, August 15^th, 2014 at 12:00pm (noon).

Terms and Conditions

• Winning entries from other photography competitions will not be considered for the competition, and will be disqualified.
• All photographs submitted for Picture Singapore must be the participants’ own work, and by entering the contest, participants are confirming that they are the legal copyright owners of the photographs submitted. Participants must submit their entries personally. No proxy submission by any participant is allowed.
• SRN reserves the right to disqualify any entries they deem unsuitable for the competition without notifying the participant. Entries that are offensive, irrelevant, or otherwise unsuitable will be removed from SRN’s Facebook page and disqualified.
• SRN will not be held responsible for the inability to read or download any photograph.

Copyright Information

• Copyright of all entries will be retained by the Singapore Research Nexus (SRN) at FASS, NUS.
• All photographs submitted for Picture Singapore will become the sole property of SRN. SRN reserves the right to use these photographs in its publications, and due credit will be given to the photographers.
• No watermarks, identifying marks, or signatures will be allowed for photographs entered into the competition.
• Participants’ submissions shall not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks or any other intellectual property rights or contract rights of any third parties, or violate anyone’s right of privacy.

Who can enter Picture Singapore?

Picture Singapore is open to current Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) students, FASS alumni, and current FASS faculty and staff only. Students who will matriculate in Fall 2014 are also considered current students. Students, faculty, and staff must provide an NUS email ID. Alumni must provide an AlumMAIL email ID.

Will my work be showcased?

High quality entries will be automatically included in SRN’s online Photo Bank, to be launched this year.

High quality entries may be turned into postcards and/or cards for marketing purposes.

High quality entries will also be displayed at Artsbuzz on Level 4 of NUS Central Library from September 4^th to 22^nd, 2014.

An Award Ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 4^th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Central Library Theatrette 2 (Level 4, Room 5).
