SRN Virtual Event: Diaspora and Cosmopolitanism, Religion and Place, and Language and Multiculturalism in Singapore and the Region

The virtual event hosted by the Singapore Research Nexus at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, took place on Friday, 7 January 2022.

The webinar featured three different panels focusing on the themes of Diaspora and Cosmopolitanism, Religion and Place, and Language and Multiculturalism. A wide variety of researchers from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences discussed their projects on topics that ranged from insights into the diasporic communities of the ethnic Chinese in colonial Java, to the spread of Christianity in Southeast Asia and how it has shaped politics and public debates, to the effects of multilingualism and transnational mobility in Singapore.
