A\/P Tilak Abeysinghe , director of the Singapore Centre for Applied and Policy Economics at the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore, and his student, Yang Shu Wen,\u00a0found that personal responsibility plays an important role in preventive health-care practices, because Singaporeans are more likely to adopt healthy lifestyles for fear of the high medical bills.
